Cue Molly Mallone. (you don't know that song? rise up irish people of the world.)

Is anyone else outrageously excited for St. Patrick's Day?  No?  allllright.

St. Patrick's Day is my fav for a few reasons:

  • the mark of spring.  I think last year I got sun burned at the parade
  • the abundance of beer.  and soda bread with jam.  and cabbage.  I love cabbage.  sick.
  • crazy celtic music blaring IN YOUR FACE ALL THE TIME.  I won't lie.  I've already started it up here in Incredible land (<--- is Incredible land really Michael Jacksonish?  should I change that?)
  • Irish Dancing throwback.  Love it or leave it.  Think it's "weird" or know that my hard shoes can make your tap shoes cry.
I think come St Patty's Day (or March) I'll be sad that I shared this pic with you.  No fear.  I'll put up more.

  1. I already requested the day off (a day involving kilts, parades, dancing, debauchery and most importantly BEER...of course I did!), for the annual firefighters pub crawl.

Do you really know Irish dances? Can we throw a lesson in after the curling game??

  3. Oooh, I love soda bread!

  4. I heart green beer. And even though i could get it every day by just putting food coloring in my regular beer, that would totally be cheating and would ruin the fun that is St. Patty's Day.

    That is all.

  5. Unfortunately, I think St. Patty's day should go on the list of "Pointless Holidays" right along with Valentines Day. Although, I say this because I've never really celebrated it, and if my town has a parade...I'm not sure I've heard of it :)

But, I'm glad others enjoy this Holiday. It makes me happy :) Now, bring on July 4th and Memorial Day and all of those fun times!!

  9. I'm not the biggest fan of St. Patty's Day. The NYC parade runs right past my office and creates a lot of crowds to navigate through. Crowds who are all drunk and having fun while I'm at work. Maybe I'm just jealous.

  11. I love St. Patrick's Day. LOVE IT! I'm not Irish ... but I've had Irish in me!!! *winkwinknudgenudge* To be honest I've waited a REALLLLLLLY long time to be able to say that... I finally have a boyfriend that is part Irish and yes I've worn that line out. But we're new pals so I had to say it again.

Bottom line - I love all things Irish, minus cooked cabbage - but I will eat raw red cabbage all day I LOVE IT!

I never had boyfriends that enjoyed the holiday and truth be told even if my boyfriend M wasn't Irish I think he'd still be stoked about this holiday.

We had the conversation last night that we really think it needs to be a revolving holiday, much like Easter that only happens on SATURDAYS so you can drink all day, be merry, and recover the next day with a good rest.

I want to do a pub crawl so bad this year but sadly we really only have a few bars downtown... like 3. :(

  13. LOL! I'm excited too!!! I was just thinking this morning I was going to bake some Irish soda bread and buy some excellent Irish butter and bring it into work on St Patrick's Day. ALSO: LOVE the pic. I remember when you all came to visit long ago and I found out you were taking Irish dancing. I thought you were just the coolest cousin ever! :-) Will your little girls going to dance too?

  18. Yeah, St. Patrick's Day! Yeah, March! Yeah, Spring! But I'm NOT preparing Lil Bits for this holiday...cutting out leprachauns? four leaf clovers? Not so lucky for me.

On another note--I haven't thanked you for the award...I meant to...Thanks and congratulations to you.
